Each generation or age is defined by a common or shared experience, often by a war, a natural disaster or some technological development. For example: Bronze Age, Dark Age, Great Depression, WWII, etc. This abstract painting slowly developed to convey the collective technology that shapes our current generation. We are all looking out in a shared direction molded by our dependence on computers, reality TV, smart phones, and social media. Each one of us dwells in our own increasingly wireless tech bubble perched on the distant backdrop of a time devoid of the buzz of technology.
We all share a common experience that colors our collective consciousness. I fear that as we become increasingly technology dependent, we also become less connected to the natural world at our own peril.
