Waves on a beach at times will deposit the carcasses of deceased treasures. Here, there is a shell-game going on as the restless waves play tag. This painting exemplifies some of the techniques I use to convey water movement, depth, and texture. Watercolor and wax are a wonderful combination. My working philosophy is to initially let the watery mixture paint the ocean with as little interference from me. When all is dry, then it is my turn to help bring the collaboration to some resolution.
